Unlike industrial systems, the natural ecosystem possesses a self-generating and self-organizing capacity that, due to its extreme diversity and complexity, allows itself to self-regulate and evolve towards greater complexity and diversity. This capacity for self-regeneration and self-organization is damaged by techniques that aim to rationalize and dominate nature, making it predictable and calculable. (Gorz, 2008)
